Stories have a special place in our lives. There’s something about a good story that sinks its hooks quickly and deeply into us and reels us in. The Old Testament tells many stories which form part of a bigger story- narrating God’s dealings with the people of Israel through Abraham- Jacob- Moses- Joseph- Samuel- David- and many others. What all of them have in common is that- in one way or another- God is a central player in the action which unfolds. Sometimes he is there openly and obviously.
